Objectives

To Prepare Master Plan and Zonal Plans to promote and secure planned development of the Local Area under Jammu Master Plan-2032.

To prepare layout plans for each zone and show approximate locations and extents of land uses proposed in the zone for public buildings, public works and utilities, roads, housing, recreation, industry, business, markets, schools, hospitals and Page 3 of 22 public/private open spaces and other categories of public and private uses.

To generally do anything necessary or expedient for purposes of development of Jammu Master Plan Area and purposes incidental thereto.

To ensure proper development of each zone and every area thereof according to plan and preventing buildings being erected haphazardly and to specify standards of population density and building density.

To reserve not less than 10% of the gross land area under each scheme/project developed by the Authority or any private developer for the purpose of providing housing accommodation to economically weaker sections and low income groups.

To acquire, hold, manage and dispose of land and other property, to carry out building, engineering and other operations including conceiving and development of economically viable nonresidential/ commercial infrastructure development projects.
